The curriculum for our Year 8 students includes many special activities and events, offering opportunities for both educational and interpersonal skill development. Students participate in a one-day Outdoor Education program, which builds upon the skills developed in the Year 7 camp, and introduces new tasks and activities in a bush environment, which the students will draw upon in their Year 9 camp the following year. Year 8 students also participate in two Rally Days, to celebrate and encourage the sporting endeavours and team spirit among our students. An interschool round-robin challenge brings out the school spirit in our students, as they compete in sports representing the College, and the students cheer for and encourage their peers as one.

There is a workshop for all Year 8students that focuses on the issue of bullying, as part of the Christian Education and Personal Development program. This workshop is a particularly important and valuable session, as it deals with an issue that is both sensitive and serious. The College has a strong commitment to educating students about the unacceptable nature of bullying behaviour, and students benefit greatly from the workshop, as it highlights the importance of accepting all people as individuals, regardless of their differences.

Year 8 students participate in a Reflection Day, where the central theme is self-esteem. Students undertake various activities relevant to this theme, and focus on building and maintaining a positive and strong sense of self.

A highlight for the Year 8 students is Medieval Day, the culmination of studying medieval themes in three core curriculum studies over one term. Students participate in medieval-style activities such as archery, while displays of other popular medieval activities such as sword fighting, medieval sporting tournaments and displays of medieval punishment methods provide a visually interactive learning opportunity based on their studies.
